Donald Trump unleashes his new cryptocurrency, a Schoolhouse Rock style explanation of Project 2025, a potential government shutdown just one month before Election Day, and more!
An Update on Donald Trump's Rally on Long Island
Last week I mentioned that there was a movement to have people to sign up for free tickets to Trump's rally then don't show up. Enough people did just that, as this next photo and videos show.
Despite all that, Trump now boasts that he draws bigger crowds than Elvis Presley without having a guitar. Trump is also vowing to win New York, despite the fact that he lost that state in two previous elections in 2016 and 2020. I even wrote a previous post last month on why New Yorkers don't vote for Trump and they probably won't vote for him in November either, no matter how hard Trump wishes that it would happen.
Meanwhile Donald Trump's New York rally speech has led to this Stephen Colbert video.
North Carolina is Going Crazy
A few days ago I wrote this post about my latest volunteer project where I wrote a bunch of postcards to be sent to the Winston-Salem, North Carolina area encouraging people to vote. I knew that North Carolina is one of the battleground states but even I couldn't predict the craziness that has literally broken through yesterday. The basic gist is that current Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson is running for governor. Donald Trump has endorsed him. Robinson has made problematic statements like he wanted to return to a time in America when women couldn't vote and he has advocated that transgender people choose a public restroom based on the sex that was assigned to them at birth and not on their own gender identity.
A whole bunch of revelations has come out about this guy where he has made dozens of crazy statements on a porn forum called Nude Africa, including calling himself a Black Nazi who loves watching transgender porn and, in his opinion, he doesn't think that slavery was necessarily a bad thing. His email address was found on Ashley Madison, the website for married men who are looking for an extramarital fling or two. And it gets even better. American Muckrakers have been posting Robinson's Nude Africa posts on its Twitter/X account, including this sexually explicit confession that he has been having hot sex with his wife's sister.
It's no wonder that The Lincoln Project has come out with this video comparing his public far-right stance with his other beliefs.
When I volunteered to write those postcards for North Carolina, there was no way I could've predicted another incentive for the people there to get to the polls on Election Day and vote for some sane rational people instead of whoever Trump endorses.
How Crazy Have the Last Two Weeks Become?
The most recent episode of The Daily Show had this video that probably didn't need much input from the comedy writers on its staff since real life has become so crazy lately with those rumors about Haitians eating pets, Trump's rally in Long Island, and Mark Robinson's crazy posts on Nude Africa. It's literally a case of the jokes just writing themselves.
Project 2025 Explained Schoolhouse Rock Style
Those of you of a certain age will probably remember watching Schoolhouse Rock on Saturday morning TV where you learned academic subjects like English grammar and math while watching animations with a soundtrack filled with catchy upbeat music. This video was released on YouTube this week that provides a similar way of explaining Project 2025 using animation with a similarly cheerful song. It does a great job at explaining the basics of Project 2025 and this should be shared with as many eligible voters as possible before Election Day.
Trump Cryptocurrency
Even though the election is just a few weeks away, Donald Trump has managed to find the time to come out with a new product that he hopes will encourage his loyal MAGA fan base to open their wallets just one more time: Trump Cryptocurrency. That's right, Trump Cryptocurrency. You really can't make this stuff up! And this new cryptocurrency could also create a conflict of interest for Trump, especially if he wins the election.
A Trump Parody From Ukraine
Donald Trump is turning himself into a laughing stock, especially with his repeatedly spreading that hoax about Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio eating pets. He has turned himself into such a joke that I found this Ukrainian comedy clip poking fun at Trump. There are English subtitles provided so you can see for yourself how hilarious it is.
Trump Acts Like a Middle School Girl
After the recent debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, pop singer Taylor Swift announced that she has endorsed Harris for president and had encouraged her fans—known as Swifties—to register to vote. Normally a politician tends not to say anything if a celebrity endorses his/her opponent in an upcoming election. But Donald Trump isn't a normal politician since he posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” in all caps on his Truth Social site.
Good grief! He really is just as thin-skinned as a middle school girl who's miffed that her schoolgirl crush on her teacher has gone unrequited.
A Trailer for a New Film About the Early Years of Donald Trump
A few months ago I mentioned a film about Donald Trump was shown at the Cannes Film Festival called The Apprentice. This movie will open in theaters throughout the United States on October 11—just weeks before Election Day. The film focuses on the early years of Donald Trump's career as a budding real estate developer and business celebrity. The Apprentice especially focuses on his relationship with his first lawyer, Roy Cohn, who initially made a name for himself when he successfully prosecuted Julius and Ethel Rosenberg for being Soviet spies and later went on to become the chief counsel for Senator Joseph McCarthy during the senator's notorious investigations of suspected communists. Here's the trailer below.
Dickhead of the Week
Nick Shirley is a Trump supporter who claims to be a “journalist” who traveled to Kyiv and was shocked that there are expensive luxury cars parked on the street and people were living their lives normally. Isn't there supposed to be a war going on or something? Why are US funds going to prop up a country like Ukraine that seems to be operating so normally that Kyiv even has a functional ferris wheel that's open to the general public?!? When someone pointed out that most of the fighting is taking place in the Donbass region located further away from Kyiv, he claimed to have actually been at the front line and posted “evidence.” Except the evidence he posted has apparently been faked and now he's being roasted on Twitter/X for it.
And that's not to mention that in Ukraine it is currently illegal to photograph or film any military installation or position.
A Potential US Government Shutdown on October 1
This is really idiotic. The Republican dominated House of Representatives have rejected their own funding bill after Donald Trump made this unhinged post on Truth Social telling them to do just that because, according to him, Democrats are registering tens of thousands of illegal aliens to vote in November. (Never mind the fact that non-citizens are prohibited from voting in US elections.)
If there is no new funding bill passed, the federal government will shut down on October 1, which will instantly throw hundreds of people out of work. It will set off a chain reaction that will negatively impact the economy and it will happen just a month before Election Day. If the Republicans really go through with this, they will literally shoot themselves in the foot and guarantee a Democratic victory at the polls. Although I'm sure that it will please Vladimir Putin very much with the chaos that it will create between October 1 and Election Day.
And Finally
A woman gets a tattoo on her cheek that says “TRUMP 2025” in huge letters.
The only things I'll add are: 1) I hope she never regrets getting her tattoo, especially if Trump loses in November, and 2) I hope she has some kind of a special skill that will enable her to be self-employed just like Teddy Boy Greg the Barber because that will be the only way that she will ever find work from now on.
