Happy Fourth of July!

Today is the 248th birthday of the United States of America. It's amazing that democracy in America has lasted as long, despite its flaws and the numerous attempts to strengthen and improve it.

If Donald Trump gets elected in November and he actually implements the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, this could be the last Fourth of July as we now know it. On top of it, this week the Supreme Court made this ruling which implies that a president could have the powers of a king. If Donald Trump gets reelected in November, you can be damned sure that he’ll take full advantage of that ruling. It's possible he might even assume powers that aren't spelled out in that Supreme Court ruling because he's Donald Trump and he has spent the bulk of his adult life bending and even disobeying the rules to his selfish benefit.

Since no one (especially Republicans) seems willing to get Trump to drop out of the race on the grounds that he's a convicted felon who also instigated that attempted coup on January 6, 2021 and allowed huge numbers of Americans to die in the COVID-19 pandemic, it's going to be up to us ordinary Americans to send another message to Donald Trump at the ballot box: We do not want you as president! Not now! Not ever! There was a reason why we voted you out in 2020! Get a clue!

I personally find it very telling that a huge number of the most prominent figures from the Trump Administration have refused to endorse him this time around.

In addition we need to vote out every single one of his sycophants, such as Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene. We should demand a government that serves the needs of the American people and not serve the needs of Vladimir Putin or Christian Nationalists. If we can defeat the MAGA movement at the ballot box, it will be the biggest nonviolent crushing of a very destructive political movement since the 2013-2014 Maidan protests in Ukraine. We got this!
