If you’re relatively new to the issues related to Kremlin propaganda and how it’s affecting other countries (including the United States), I recommend reading some background posts I wrote that explains things in more detail along with links to other sites where you can read more to educate yourself.
I never thought that I would write another Jackson Hinkle post in this Substack before 2023 ends but here we are.
If you will recall, pro-Kremlin and pro-Hamas propagandist Jackson Hinkle was not only in a relationship with Anna Linnikova, who was crowned Miss Russia in 2022, but they were engaged. The newly engaged couple even made this YouTube video together for Anna’s channel where Jackson tries foods that are traditional to Anna’s native Russia.
I have to admit that Hinkle’s appearance in that video is the least offensive thing he’s done online over the past few years. For once he didn’t bloviate about Ukraine or Hamas or anything that was even remotely political. If you were someone who had no knowledge about Hinkle’s antics on Twitter/X, you’d conclude that he is a relatively normal guy who got lucky to be engaged to a very attractive Russian beauty pageant queen.
Linnikova gave an interview with the British newspaper The Mirror where she describes the challenges of planning a wedding when the couple lives in Miami and her family lives in Russia.
I braced myself for a future where, sometime next year, Jackson and Anna will tie the knot and there will be all kinds of articles in the media. Let’s face it, a marriage where the husband is a former teen environmentalist-turned propaganda apologist for incredibly vile people and the wife is a Russian beauty queen who represented a country that has invaded Ukraine is the kind of story that’s tailor-made for the tabloids and for social media gossip.
As of now, that scenario will never happen. This past weekend both Twitter/X and Instagram exploded with this revelation: Anna Linnikova announced in her Instagram Stories that she has broken off her engagement to Jackson Hinkle and she is in the process of moving back to Russia. She also mentioned that she is happy with her decision.
She spilled plenty of tea on her relationship with Jackson Hinkle through Instagram Stories, the platform's comments under her recent posts, and her personal DMs. Screenshots were made and spread to Twitter/X and other social media platforms. The short answer is that she found Hinkle to be an immature and emotionally unstable narcissist who is very manipulative and he tends to lie a lot. She said that he tends to use people and she considers him to be a horrible person. She also made allusions to him being on the verge of becoming broke.
I'm sure that it didn't help that Hinkle had been frequently posting vile pro-Hamas propaganda to the point where he frequently denies that Hamas had committed the terrorist attacks on October 7. Or the fact that he seemed to have this bizarre obsession with getting Ben Shapiro to fight him online.
The fact that they were even a couple in the first place had raised eyebrows, especially online. Former beauty pageant queens generally tend to hook up with rich and famous men after their pageant days end, such as Ginger Alden, who became Elvis Presley's last girlfriend before his death in 1977. Jackson Hinkle isn't a popular entertainer or a very wealthy businessman. For the past couple of years he has spent most of his time trying to be an Internet celebrity by posting Kremlin propaganda but he's way low on the Internet celebrity scale compared to Pew Die Pie or Jake and Logan Paul. While one could say that he's handsome, his looks usually wouldn't be enough to draw someone like a beauty pageant winner.
There was frequent speculation online that the Kremlin had paired Hinkle with Linnikova as a special reward for his propaganda work on behalf of Vladimir Putin.
With this screenshot, Anna Linnikova seems to admit that she was sent to Hinkle by the FSB. She also said that taking this FSB assignment was her biggest mistake.
So far it seems like Linnikova is happy with her decision, especially when she made this post upon arriving in Moscow.
One person weighed in saying that it's well-known that Russian women are more likely to be attracted to Western men if they have a high income. With Hinkle being cut off from potential revenue streams (such as his now-banned YouTube channel), Hinkle isn't earning as much money as he used to so Linnikova bailed on the relationship while claiming that he had put up too many red flags.
As for Hinkle’s reaction, so far he has focused on continuing with his pro-Hamas propaganda. He hasn’t gotten any more personal than this announcement that he is planning to travel to China next month.
The bottom line is that the relationship had a very shaky foundation to begin with, especially with the admission that it was the FSB who encouraged that relationship along with Linnikova’s claims that Hinkle had shown some major red flags like frequent lying and narcissism. On top of it, there was Hinkle’s problem with trying to earn revenue from his online persona. The late Tina Turner used to sing “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” and the answer, in this case, would be “Not very much.” That relationship was destined to fail at some point.
At least Linnikova had the good sense to break her engagement before things went any further. Had she waited until after they were married, it would’ve been more complicated because they would’ve had to seek a divorce while involving lawyers and judges. And if they have had children together, then they would've had to deal with even more complicated issues like custody and child support.
With this timing, Linnikova was able to make an immediate clean break from Hinkle and move back to her native Russia. She won't ever have to see or speak to Hinkle again. Both Hinkle and Linnikova are young enough that they can find new partners to marry in the future and decide on such issues as having children.
I can imagine this scenario about 30 or 40 years into the future: Anna Linnikova is spending the New Year's holiday at the family dacha in Russia. While her grown children are rushing around preparing the food and decorating the place, Anna is in one of the side rooms telling stories to her grandchildren about her days as Miss Russia 2022 and her unsuccessful competition for the 2023 Miss Universe title just a few months later.
At one point she mentions that she had almost married an American but ended up breaking off the engagement. When the grandchildren ask her if she regrets not marrying the American, she can say “No. If I hadn't left him, I would have never returned to Russia where I met this wonderful man who's your grandfather. Because of him I was fortunate to have raised your lovely parents and to have you as my dear grandchildren. Besides I saw an interview with that American on television a couple of years ago and it was on one of those ‘Where are they now?’ shows where they interview former famous people who have since sunk to obscurity. He definitely has gone through some hard times after Putin died and the war ended. He had a hard time finding new work because no one wanted to work with someone who used to praise terrorists while posting anti-Ukrainian and antisemitic graphics online. At one point he had to move from Miami to Alabama because he couldn't afford to live in Miami anymore. He lives in a trailer park in this trailer that looks dilapidated. He currently holds two low-paying jobs in Birmingham as a Walmart greeter and a McDonald's cook because he needed to pay his bills and they were the only places that would hire him. If I had to do it all over again, I would still return to Russia and pick your grandfather over that loser Jackson Hinkle anytime.”
I'm definitely engaging in schadenfreude over that doomed engagement. 🤣

I know it costs as much as a subscription to Twitter/X Blue but at least I have no connections with anyone even remotely connected to Vladimir Putin’s government. ;-)
