The Roundup
Donald Trump's nephew writes a tell-all book, Kremlin propagandists react to Kamala Harris, Russian singer Shaman protests outside of the US embassy, Truth Social stock gets volatile, and more!
Donald Trump and Bitcoin
Donald Trump is appearing at this Saturday's Bitcoin Conference in Nashville where you can sit with him and even have your photo taken with him. All you need is $844,600 to sit at the Roundtable with Trump. If you can't afford it, there's the cheaper option of having your photo taken with him, which only costs $60,000. But if you bring a spouse/relative/partner/best friend/neighbor/coworker/colleague/any other extra person with you to that photo session, it'll cost you $100,000 per couple.
Irony of the Week
Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are now rivals for the White House. But it wasn’t always that way. In 2011 Trump wrote a $5,000 check for Kamala Harris’ 2014 reelection campaign for attorney general of California.
Another Trump Relative Has Written His Own Tell-All Book About His Uncle Donald
Back in 2020 Donald Trump's niece, Mary Trump, wrote her bestselling tell-all memoir about her family and she has been actively working against her uncle's reelection ever since. Her brother, Fred C. Trump III, will soon come out with his own memoir about his Uncle Donald and it seems to be just as unflattering towards Donald Trump as his sister Mary's memoir was. Both The Guardian and Time have excerpts from that book that you can read right here and here. (The latter link includes this anecdote about how Uncle Donald told Fred that Fred should just let his own disabled son die so he could be free to move to Florida.)
Truth Social Gets Volatile on Wall Street
It's been a while since I wrote anything about Truth Social. Here's an update on how Donald Trump's own social media company is doing these days.
Truth Social stock briefly went up in the wake of that unsuccessful assassination attempt against Donald Trump and Trump getting the nomination at the RNC Convention. Now that Kamala Harris has hit the campaign trail, Truth Social stock has been sinking once again. At this point the only people interested in investing in Truth Social are diehard Trump supporters. Serious investors are pretty much avoiding that one. I wouldn't be surprised if Truth Social eventually goes the way of Parler, especially if Donald Trump loses the election in November.
Russian State TV Reacts to Kamala Harris
In a nutshell, the Russians aren't too happy with her. (They have compared her to the devil.) They are seem to have lost respect for Donald Trump as well as they make snarky comments about his ear bandage that he wore throughout the RNC Convention but has now stopped wearing it. Here's the video with English subtitles.
Shaman Protests Against His Music Being Removed From Spotify and YouTube
Shaman, the Russian singer who's notorious for singing patriotic songs praising Vladimir Putin and the invasion of Ukraine apparently was mad after he was banned from Spotify and YouTube. The bans came soon after his name came up on the European Union's list of sanctioned Russian performers for staging concerts in the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine. He was so steamed that he appeared at a protest outside of the US embassy in Moscow demanding that the US government somehow force Spotify and YouTube to reinstate his music. I hate to be the one to tell him this but YouTube and Spotify are not owned or controlled by the US government. They are both privately-owned companies who made the decision to pull the plug on his music. The US government had nothing to do with this.
Here's video footage from that protest in Moscow, which turned out to be just as big of a clown show as last week's RNC Convention in Milwaukee.
Twitter/X Does Play Favorites With Certain Accounts
Ever since Elon Musk has taken over Twitter, there have been unsettling indicators that the platform is becoming more and more favorable to those with far-right wing views. Twitter/X user Anti-Fascist Turtle had posted a screenshot of a Twitter API leak showing that there is really a list of protected users who are allowed to violate the platform's Terms of Service without any consequences at all. All of the protected users tend to spew right wing views and, according to the code posted in the screenshot, they are even permitted to use racial/ethnic slurs (which is usually a violation of the Terms of Service).
Anti-Fascist Turtle was rewarded for his expose by having his Twitter/X account suspended.
It's incidents like this that has resulted in major advertisers and regular users fleeing from that platform.
Best Redefinition of Masculinity On Twitter/X
Pro-MAGA propagandist Gunther Eagleman implied that real men don't vote for Kamala Harris and he got his ass handed back to him on a silver platter by a veteran who served in Iraq on Twitter/X who says that he plans to vote for Harris on the 20th anniversary of the day that he led a SEAL sniper team into Fallujah. That veteran further taunted Eagleman asking him what was he doing during the Iraq War.
A Friendly Hint When Pretending to Be Someone Else Online
If you’re pretending to be a Donald Trump supporter of a different race and gender from who you are in real life, always check to make sure that your profile name and picture matches your fake identity before you post or else you'll get something that's so embarrassing that it goes viral. In other words, don't get caught being a white guy who's pretending to be an African American woman who supports Trump like pro-MAGA supporter Joey Mannarino did.
A Project 2025 Video For You to Watch and Share
Robert Reich has recently made this video where he not only ties Donald Trump with Project 2025 but he reads a few excerpts from that massive document. It's another way to get out the word that a vote for Donald Trump is a vote to implement Project 2025 and do away with American democracy as we now know it.
