The Circus is Coming to Washington, DC in January
And I'm not talking about Donald Trump either
It looks like Donald Trump isn't the only clown who will be arriving in Washington, DC in January (so he could become the first president to serve two nonconsecutive terms since Grover Cleveland).
In my last post I mentioned that the Women's March organizers are having a rally in front of Union Station today. In addition they are one of the organizers of a People's March that will take place in DC on the Saturday before Inauguration Day on January 18. But, wait, there's more!
Late last night, while I was browsing Twitter/X, I got word of a protest that is going to be held on Inauguration Day itself and, boy is it a doozy!
It's called We Fight Back and these protesters are promising to stick it to Donald Trump. Right on, comrades! Maybe they can even sing this song while marching in the streets.
The list of Initial Convenors reads like a total clown show. You have a few pro-Palestinian groups who are the same kind of people who have nicknamed Joe Biden as “Genocide Joe” until he dropped out of the race then nicknamed Kamala Harris as “Holocaust Harris” even though she indicated that she was open to reducing the amount of weapons the US sent to Israel. They began to urge voters to protest the ongoing war in Gaza (which they consider to be a genocide) by either voting third party or leaving the president's name blank while voting blue down-ballot or even boycotting the election altogether. Enough people did just one of those three alternative options that ended up to help elect a man who is even closer to Benjamin Netanyahu than Joe Biden ever was and is all in favor of Israel completely destroying Gaza so he and his son-in-law Jared Kushner could build a Gaza vacation beach resort for wealthy guests. Way to go with screwing over your own cause, pro-Palestinian groups! Of course it'll be the Palestinians in Gaza who will sadly bear the brunt of all this.
There's the ANSWER Coalition whom I've long encountered at various protests in DC since the early 2000s. No matter what the theme of the protest is (abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, Black Lives Matter, etc.) ANSWER is always there to protest because, well, they seem to really like to protest.
There's CODEPINK, a feminist antiwar group that is pro-Putin and pro-authoritarian dictators in general who have an interesting entry on the Vatnik Soup website.
There's Claudia de la Cruz, who ran for president on the Party for Socialism and Liberation. I had only heard of her because a few months ago someone I followed on Instagram had announced that he was going to vote for her as a protest against Joe Biden's policy regarding Israel's war in Gaza and he was encouraging others to do the same.
There’s also another third party candidate who's even more well-known than Claudia de la Cruz. That person is Jill Stein, who ran for president on the Green Party ticket even though members of her own family had urged her not to run. The self-proclaimed “only anti-genocide candidate,” who made the Israeli bombing in Gaza the main centerpiece of her campaign, is also an investor in Raytheon, one of the largest defense contractors in the world who has made the weapons used on the Palestinians in Gaza. The same candidate who criticized Democrats more than Republicans because she paid $100,000 to a Republican consulting firm that's led by a January 6 rioter. And that's only scratching the surface. There is a lot of information about Jill Stein that's out there and she's one of the main reasons why the US Green Party is so messed up.
Besides, if Jill Stein and Claudia de la Cruz were really THAT concerned about the possibility of the reelection of Donald Trump, they could have opted not to run long-shot third party campaigns in the first place and told their followers to vote for Kamala Harris instead and Harris would've probably ended up with more of the popular vote.
There are a few other organizations listed whom I have never even heard of before. For all I know each organization could only consist of just one person who is “operating” his entire “organization” from the basement of his parents’ home.
That whole event reeks of a total clown show that is going up against another clown show that's known as the Inauguration of Donald J. Trump as the 47th President of the United States. I'd love to see the people from these two events battle it out on the streets but I'm going to plan to be way too busy on January 20 to be there in person to witness this total clown spectacle. 🤡
