Apparently Donald Trump somehow got his adult diapers in a knot when he learned that Kamala Harris once worked at a McDonald's when she was younger and he started to accuse her of lying about working at McDonald's, which also happens to be Trump’s favorite fast food place. I don't even get why Trump really cares so much about where Harris once worked decades ago. A lot of people have worked in fast food at one point in their lives so it shouldn't even be an issue but Trump made it one. In fact he made such a big issue out of it that he did this publicity stunt where he worked the fryer at a McDonald's in Pennsylvania. At least he went to a McDonald's that's located in one of the battleground states for his pretend cosplay stunt.
As this next video shows, it became a train wreck as he only worked at his job for a few minutes, the restaurant was closed to the general public in advance so Trump could work his very brief shift, all of the customers were pre-selected in advance, and they even rehearsed what they would order.
At best Trump got a vague idea of what it's like to operate a fryer but it's not quite the same as coming into work for a multi-hour shift doing the same tasks day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. Trump's cosplay did garner some ridicule from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
While the corporate-owned mainstream media went crazy over Trump's cosplay as a McDonald's employee, it won't be enough to get more people to consider voting for him. Just one look at this cover of the New York Post isn't going to convince someone to say, “You know, I was going to vote for Kamala Harris until I saw this photo of Donald Trump working at McDonald's in the New York Post. That photograph shows him as a man who's in touch with the average worker and that is enough for me to change my vote for Trump.”
As this headline for another Substack post by Scott Dworkin puts it, Corporate Media Thought We'd Fall For Trump's Failed McDonald's PR Stunt.
Although it led to this pretty humorous tweet by Saint Javelin on Twitter/X which shows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy pulling up to a McDonald's drive-thru window staffed by Donald Trump ordering “10 Patriots, 30 ATACAMs, 15 Abrams and a long-range strike permit please.”
Donald Trump's McDonald's employee cosplay brings to mind his previous pretend working class performance as a farmer singing the theme song from the TV sitcom Green Acres during the 2006 Emmy Awards.
