To the surprise of absolutely no one Kamala Harris accepted the nomination to be the Democratic candidate for president. Here are the highlights from her speech that she gave on the fourth and final night of the DNC Convention in Chicago last night.
Meanwhile Republicans have been spending the past few days on social media tearing apart Gus Walz, the neurodivergent 17-year-old son of vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, for being emotional on the third night of the convention.
Here is a sample of how bad it got.
Probably the worst came from Ann Coulter where she initially tweeted a photo of Gus Walz with the caption saying “Talk about weird…”
She later deleted that tweet but she issued another tweet where she says that it's the Democrats who are calling everyone weird. The Lincoln Project responded with this epic retort: “So if he didn't have autism, mocking a child would've been fine?”
The MAGA Republicans are probably thinking that Gus Walz should act more like Donald Trump Jr.
As for the Free Palestine protests, there was one on the last day of the convention but it was largely peaceful.
It looked like this year wasn't a repeat of 1968 and that's a good thing for everyone involved because doing anything that could possibly lead to the election of Donald Trump at this point would've been the wrong move.
I'll just end this post with this tweet by Claudia Conway, the daughter of former Trump Administration official Kellyanne Conway and Trump critic George Conway: “I can’t believe that one day I’ll get to sit my children and my grandchildren down and tell them all about how I was 19 years old at the convention where our first woman president accepted her nomination. 💙”
