An Accused American Child Pornographer in the Russian Military
Another American has followed in the footsteps of the late Russell "Texas" Bentley
If you’re relatively new to the issues related to Kremlin propaganda and how it’s affecting other countries (including the United States), I recommend reading some background posts I wrote that explains things in more detail along with links to other sites where you can read more to educate yourself.
Wilmer Puello-Mota is a US Air Force veteran and a former city council member in Holyoke, Massachusetts who was arrested in 2020 for possession of child pornography involving a 17-year-old girl. It started when Puello-Mota called police claiming that his firearm was stolen. The police soon discovered that he was really at the hotel to meet the 17-year-old girl. Police found nude photos of the girl on Puello-Mota's phone. The girl told police that he sent her money via Venmo in exchange for sexually explicit photographs.
Puello-Mota was expected to enter a guilty plea at his trial in January but he fled the country before his court date. He initially flew to Turkey before making his way to Moscow. He then traveled to the Russian-occupied area of Donetsk in Ukraine where he joined an international brigade.
He has appeared in this propaganda video that went viral. He talked about fighting for Russia and he said that he was given “Boston” as his call sign since he originally came from Massachusetts.
It looks like he has followed a similar path to the late Russell “Texas” Bentley. He can never return to the US because he will get arrested nor can he travel to a country with an extradition treaty with the US. He's stuck in Donetsk. He'd better hope that his Russian comrades don't turn on him like they did with Bentley.
As for the Donetsk locals with minor children, they will need to hide their kids from this man so the kids won't end up in one of his future child porn videos.
