A Terror Attack in Moscow
And the Kremlin propagandists have already blamed Ukraine for this despite ISIS taking credit
Just when this situation with Russia couldn't get any uglier, yesterday something horrendous happened in Moscow. People were attending a rock concert at Crocus City Hall when gunmen suddenly showed up and open fire on the crowd, killing 133 people.
ISIS has taken credit for the attack. Four gunmen were arrested and Vladimir Putin is trying to link them to Ukraine. The Ukrainian government has denied that it was involved in that attack. The Liberty of Russia Legion, which is trying to overthrow the Putin government has issued this tweet on Twitter/X also denying that it was involved while condemning the attack on unarmed civilians.
If you've somehow missed the initial news about this terrorist attack, this BBC News video should get you up to speed.
In order to learn how this terrorist attack fits in with the current war in Ukraine, I highly recommend reading this timeline of events.
Here's my take on the situation. While Russia has committed all kinds of atrocities against Ukrainians since the war began over two years ago, I think it's despicable to kill unarmed Russians who were simply at Crocus City Hall to attend a concert and have a good time. Killing innocent people in cold blood is simply wrong.
Sadly this incident could be the start of something horrible. Here's an article I came across that shows how bad things could get based on previous similar historical events, such as the 1933 Reichstag fire in Berlin.
